The School of Natural Resources and Environment (SNRE) at the University of Michigan is seeking for a motivated PhD student to work on a National Science Foundation funded research project focusing on understanding and modeling the dynamics of bioenergy supply chain and its environmental implications using life cycle analysis, GIS, and agent-based modeling. The project will investigate how agents in the bioenergy supply chain are interacting with each other and are responding to market and policy signals. It is also possible, and highly encouraged, for the student to pursue other research directions depending on future opportunities and the student’s interests. The successful candidate must have demonstrated research ability in industrial ecology and environmental systems analysis and should have good communication skills. A Master’s degree in relevant fields is preferred.
