The Center for Resilient Communities at the University of Idaho (Moscow, ID) invites applications for a post-doctoral scientist for interdisciplinary research related to social-ecological systems modeling and agent-based modeling of food-energy-water systems. The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of social and environmental scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to develop innovative solutions to integrated food, energy, and water systems interactions.

Requirements include a PhD degree (already received, or having completed all requirements and awaiting graduation) in computational social science or a similar interdisciplinary area (e.g., anthropology, computer science, geography, sociology). The successful candidate should have expertise in agent-based modeling techniques and social-ecological systems concepts. Candidates should have the ability to work independently while functioning as part of a large research team. Experience or an interest in working with stakeholders would be helpful, and some experience with digital data mining is desirable. Publications on agent-based modeling, social-ecological system modeling, and/or food-energy and water systems are a plus.

The position is based in Moscow, Idaho with regular visits to Idaho Falls to collaborate with colleagues at Idaho National Lab and to New Hampshire to collaborate with team members there. The position is available immediately, applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
