We seek a highly skilled Research Fellow to work on a cutting-edge research project using agent-based modelling (ABM). This is a two year project funded by the Alliance MBS Strategic Research Investment Fund. You will work in the project team with the award holders and principle investigators (PIs), Dr Mark Healey and Dr Mercedes Bleda, within the School’s Innovation Management and Policy Division. The goal of the project is to advance new theories of organizational strategic behaviour via simulation modelling. In so doing, the research will forge stronger connections between social science theory and methods and organization theory, contributing to debates in both fields.
You will build and test agent-based models to simulate the strategic actions of business organizations, via the behaviour of managers and management teams, and use these models to undertake competitive tests of alternative theories of the behavioural foundations of firm performance. You will have a PhD or equivalent in an area relevant to the job description (i.e. with an emphasis on agent-based simulation and/or computer simulation), demonstrated ability to produce agent-based models of social (or related) phenomena, experience in coding with languages relevant to agent-based modelling, excellent programming skills, and demonstrated ability to publish in high quality academic journals, conferences and books.
Please see the attached job description for further details.
