Applicants must be within 3 years of having completed their PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline. The successful candidate will have excellent English language communication skills (both written and verbal), with prior experience of writing scientific or technical articles. The successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of statistics and statistical methods. Applicants should have experience developing computational systems using Databases (particularly NoSQL), High Performance Computing (particularly MPI-based cluster applications), and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Previous contributions to Open Source projects would be an asset.
The initial appointment will be for one year. Extension of the appointment for the second year is possible, but subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance during the first year. The salary will be commensurate with the experience of the candidate in the range of $37,800 to $44,000 CDN (including benefits).
