Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate in the Complex Systems and Statistical Physics Group of the School of Physics and Astronomy.

You will be a theoretical physicist or applied mathematician with a background in non-equilibrium statistical physics, the theory of stochastic processes or the theory of complex systems, and will work on an interdisciplinary project on the social complexity of immigration and diversity.

You should have, or be about to complete, a PhD or equivalent in Theoretical Physics, or related area, and ideally will have experience in the general theoretical techniques that are applied in the study of stochastic processes.You must have a familiarity with computer modelling, up to date computer packages and general computer literacy. Experience in analytical calculations and numerical simulations is also required, and good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to contribute to the production of research papers in the field are also essential.
