We are thrilled to announce the 5th edition of the Spatial Data Science Symposium (SDSS 2024), which will take place as a distributed virtual meeting on Oct 23-24, 2024: http://sdss2024.spatial-data-science.net/

The calls for session proposals (deadline: August 16th) and papers (deadline: August 30th) are now active. We welcome short paper submissions and proposals for sessions (60-min. sessions in the form of presentations, panel discussions, challenges, tutorials, etc.), on topics related to spatial data science, including the retrieval, analysis, simulation, and prediction of geospatial data. SDSS is a community-driven event. YOU decide how the program will look like by submitting session proposals via the webform on our webpage. Feel free to check out the selected sessions from community proposals from last year’s event at http://sdss2023.spatial-data-science.net/.

To bring together researchers from academia, industry, non-profits, and government from all over the world, we are hosting the symposium as a distributed virtual event. In-person discussions and presentations will be possible at local hubs, including Vienna, McGill University, University of Bristol, Utrecht University, and more to come. As the symposium is online and free, everybody is welcome to join and listen as well as to actively contribute by suggesting sessions or submitting papers.
